Books That I Recommend

I read (or listen to) a lot of books. These are the top of the top that I recommend.

   

A great introduction to exercise science and physiology from basics to training

   

This book, while over-complicating things at times, is all you really need to put together a great training program for flatter running

A nice mix of physiology and application specific to running

   

First edition full of typos and mistakes (and I'm not a fan of the writing style) but this book does a good job of presenting the applied physiology of performance bioenergetics anchored on critical power/speed.
